Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) on Solar Entrepreneurship under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a 9‑day training and capacity‑building programme designed to prepare participants for business and self‑employment opportunities in rooftop solar.

Designed to youth for employment or self-employment with confidence and practical skills.

Programme Objective
To enhance employability of 18+ youth by providing job-oriented skills, workplace behaviour training and guidance on career pathways.

About the Programme

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana provides subsidy support for rooftop solar so households can generate their own electricity and reduce bills. The 9‑day ESDP links this scheme with entrepreneurship, training youth, technicians, and aspiring business owners to install, market, and maintain rooftop solar systems as a sustainable livelihood Communication, digital skills, basic domain exposure and life skills to prepare participants for jobs, internships and entrepreneurial opportunities.

1.To develop solar entrepreneurs who can design, install, and maintain grid‑connected rooftop PV systems under PM Surya Ghar. 2.To create employment and self‑employment opportunities in the renewable energy value chain, including installation, servicing, and local dealership. 3.To build understanding of relevant government schemes, bank finance, and subsidy procedures so participants can start and grow their own enterprises. 4.To enhance soft skills, business communication, and life skills needed for dealing with customers, suppliers, and financial institutions.

Eligibility: Male/ Female 18 years and above upto 45 .
Minimum education: 10th / 12th pass (or as specified per batch).
Mode: Classroom + practical lab + project work (with online support where needed).
Objectives of the 9‑day ESDP 1. To develop solar entrepreneurs who can design, install, and maintain grid‑connected rooftop PV systems under PM Surya Ghar.
2.To create employment and self‑employment opportunities in the renewable energy value chain, including installation, servicing, and local dealership.
